Today was a BIG day in our continuing house building saga. Setting the trusses was a struggle for several reasons and went "over budget" (the $70/hour crane)
but by the middle of the afternoon we had the trusses set... tomorrow the OSB and tar paper goes on... by Friday we should be under roof (in the case of our Tennessee Irish cottage a Hawaiian Blue tin roof). Here's a picture from the NW corner showing the knee walls and center trusses:
Here's a shot from the other end of the house (the gable ends will be stuccoed like the block walls):
And a shot from the back (the wider overhang is part of my passive solar design which lets in winter sun for heating while blocking the summer sun which is higher in the sky):
